In “Organic Matter,” the glass pixels capture cellular images and patterns of nature such as tree barks, chloroplasts, and bubbles, all of which have their own unique functions and necessities. Looking through millions of microscopic molecules in biology class, I was able to apply this to my own life, as even the most irregular or seemingly disjointed pieces define me.

Additionally, I reference in “Organic Matter” the shattered coils of my previous piece “Unleashed,” reworking these fragments into my broader identity. Through this realization, I began to appreciate the small beauties of the world, making way for self-acceptance, represented by the canoe advancing me forward. Thus, I seek to encourage others to embrace the same.
