Year: 2022

The preserved box on the left represents childhood innocence and naivete. As children grow up, the hidden secrets in this box reveal themselves on a gradual scale. Without my parents’ protection, the lock on the box breaks, unleashing everything all at once. The twisted wires representing the harsh truths of the world coil around me, attacking the initial sphere of protection established by my parents. Unable to maneuver or break free, I am hunched over in fear, immobilized. Even the comforting voice of my mother over the phone is not enough.
