Washing Away Worries (Part 1 of the PAUSE Series)

Making decisions has always been a challenge throughout my life, filling me with anxiety and fear. From choosing between academics and artistic pursuits to setting boundaries, I have always felt as if I had to rush against the clock. However, I realize that taking a moment to simply stop and reflect leads to a new appreciation of life.
Upon graduation, the young girl in my painting is besieged by her neverending worries, but she learns to pause the gears of her fast-paced life. Through this reflection, she finds a spark of hope as shown through the bright orange detergent, which represents the ability to wash away our worries, giving way to new opportunities. Even the smallest glimpse of hope can invite us to break free from the burdens we all carry.
Through my piece, I hope to encourage those who struggle with mental health to realize that life is not a race against time. By living in the present, we can appreciate the value of mindfulness.
